What have I learned in Thailand? Well I would say too much and not enough. What do I mean by that, well what I have learned in the past two months but have kinda known for awhile already is that my faith was never really my own and was more of what other people said it should be. I have learned almost too much information about all kinds of topics but yet I want me information and have more questions. What I have learned makes me want to learn more even though I am drowning already under the waves of knowledge I have already received. One of the things that I have learned these past two months that I will carry with me the rest of this year and into the rest of my life is that while it may seem safe to hide your feelings or to go with the crowd so you don’t upset people, make yourself stand out, or cause people to feel burdened doing this is like poison that slowly kills the real you. Each of us were made with a specific purpose, and that purpose can help so many people if we choose to let it. There is definitely some things that I had to overcome while I was here in Thailand that I did not expect to have to work through or process, and I am still working on them. The thing that has made it a lot easier is having people to talk with that have similar experiences and can share ways that they were able to walk through and get to other side. I am definitely going to miss Thailand and not just for the friends that I made and the things that I got to do but also for the life lessons that I learned and the things that I uncovered about myself. Some of the other things that I have been learning about in regards to my faith is just how much God loves each, and every one of us, and how we often take that for granted, as well as other looked over stuff like speaking, tongues, spiritual warfare, and how to deal with demonic oppression. I can’t wait to share what I have learned about in regards to these things in my next post as I’m still working through all the stuff I have learned and figuring out what stuff I agree with and what stuff I don’t or have more questions on. I will say while it is important to hear what other Christians have to say about all of these topics such as: speaking in tongues, demonic oppression / possession, spiritual warfare, etc you can get carried away from the main point of the gospel message and it’s important to have and keep that foundation before diving to much into those topics.
